Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Ancillary Services Booking Clerk to support the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC).

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs a variety of clerical duties such as scheduling and booking out-patient appointments in collaboration with physician’s offices, technologists, therapists, RNs and patients; receptionist functions, data entry, filing, typing, requisitioning supplies, and other related clerical duties.

Qualifications

Grade 12 and two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Ability to supervise.
