IT Systems Administrator, Platform Services
As one of Canada's most successful retail organizations, we're looking for a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our Platform Services team.
In this role, you'll support and enhance the Microsoft technologies and enterprise systems that power our retail stores, corporate offices, distribution centres, and business operations. You'll work with a modern technology stack that includes Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Windows Server, Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and endpoint management solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to expand their expertise in cloud technologies, enterprise infrastructure, identity management, security, and automation while contributing to technology modernization initiatives across the organization.
Work Arrangement: Full Time in office to start during onboarding. Then Hybrid (60% onsite, 40% remote)
What You'll Do
- Support, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Windows Server, and related enterprise technologies.
- Manage identity and access management, endpoint management, and collaboration platforms used across stores, offices, and distribution centres.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across enterprise systems, infrastructure, applications, devices, and cloud services.
- Monitor and maintain the performance, reliability, and security of business-critical technology platforms.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, Desktop Support, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions.
- Participate in projects involving cloud adoption, technology upgrades, automation, platform enhancements, and service improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, operational efficiency, security, and end-user experience.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and an on-call support rotation as required.
What You'll Bring
- 2–5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments within a medium-to-large organization.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft technologies, including:
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Windows Server
- Endpoint Management platforms such as Microsoft Intune
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, request, change, and problem management.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
Technical Experience:
Experience with several of the following technologies:
- Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Exchange Online
- Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management solutions
- Windows Server administration and support
- PowerShell scripting and automation tools
- File services, print services, IIS, and Windows infrastructure technologies
- SQL Server or database platform support
- Enterprise application support, monitoring tools, and vendor coordination
- DNS, DHCP, certificates, backup and recovery, virtualization, and business continuity concepts
- ITSM, ticketing, workflow, and technical documentation platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Enterprise printing environments, Universal Print, cloud print management, or print modernization initiatives
- Windows Autopilot, endpoint compliance, security baselines, or application packaging
- Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Graph, or PowerShell automation
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other enterprise business applications
- VMware, Veeam, backup technologies, virtualization platforms, or related infrastructure services
- ServiceNow, Jira, or similar IT service management platforms
- Experience working within retail, healthcare, pharmacy, distribution, or other multi-site environments
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, MD-102, AZ-900, SC-900, or equivalent practical experience
