Mechanical Engineer - SABRE

(McClean Lake)

Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and efficiency. You’ll be involved with strategic planning and hands-on execution, as you assess and develop new ore zones to bring into production while embracing the safe and effective implementation of the SABRE mining technique. You’ll navigate immediate and long-term challenges to achieve production targets, while collaborating with consulting engineers to deliver innovative designs. Your knowledge of budgeting and forecasting will empower the team to stay on track, ensuring each project meets OCI’s highest standards. If this position excites you, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities include:

Mining:

Assist with annual operating and capital budgets, forecasting, execution, and reporting
Recommend and implement department engineering processes and procedures

Project Management:

Support McClean Lake Mining (MLM) in safely achieving production targets, while addressing short and long-term challenges
Guide consulting engineering and project delivery services in the development and execution of engineered designs and projects
Assist in managing project delivery, including costs, schedules, quality, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs)
Understand and administer management of change (MOC) to facility changes
Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures

Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Safety and Security, Team Spirit and Cohesion, Continuous Improvement, Customer Satisfaction, Ethics, Transparency and Dialogue, Respect and People Development

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

A university degree in Engineering; mining specialization is preferred. Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan with APEGS

3 – 5+ years of progressive mine engineering and project delivery experience
Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
Microsoft Project experience is preferred
Effective planning and organizational skills
Co-ordinate activities, information, materials or resources within own area of responsibility to meet deadlines
Ability to interact in a team environment, as well as work independently

Work Location & Schedule:

McClean Lake Operations, Northern Saskatchewan
Fly-in/Fly-out operation with on-premises camp facilities
14 day in/ 14 day out schedule
Normally an 11-hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
Able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions

Salary Range:

$118,350 - $139,200

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks.
