The True North Hospitality Culinary team is looking for Concession Cooks and Lead Concession Cooks to help deliver exceptional food and service at Canada Life Centre.
These roles are responsible for preparing quality food in a fast-paced environment, with Lead Concession Cooks also providing leadership, coaching, and operational support to ensure efficient kitchen operations and outstanding guest experience.
What to be excited for in this role:

Prepare food items for guests using quality methods in a timely and efficient manner.

Assist the Chef with food preparation, production, and plating as required.

Practice and enforce strict sanitation and food safety standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Support kitchen operations by performing food preparation, line service, cleaning, and dishwashing as needed.

Supervise, coach, and support concession kitchen staff while promoting a positive team environment.

Assist with the training and ongoing development of kitchen employees.

Ensure all employees follow company policies, food safety standards, and health and safety procedures.

Lead and support the daily kitchen operations within the concession areas at Canada Life Centre

Maintain clear and professional communication with the Chef, kitchen team, supervisors, and guests to ensure efficient operations and consistent food quality.

Build strong working relationships with team members by providing guidance, support, and direction during service.

Recognize operational concerns, communicate them promptly to leadership, and contribute to timely and effective resolutions.

Perform other duties as assigned that support the culinary team and organizational objectives.
What we need from you:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a line cook or in a commercial kitchen

Experience in a high-volume, quick-service environment is preferred.

Passion for delivering exceptional food quality and guest experiences.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset.

Valid Certified Food Handler Certificate is required.

Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and applicable regulations.

Experience executing line service and working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technology and software as required is an asset.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with guests and team members.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to professionally resolve concerns.

Ability to remain calm, organized, and productive under pressure.

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and safely bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg).

Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
