Job Title: Quoting Arborist – A Beautiful Hybrid Role
Part-Time | Quoting + Light Climbing | Flexible Schedule
We’re looking for a Quoting Arborist to join our crew — someone who loves trees, enjoys working with people, and wants a role that offers the best of both worlds.
This is not your typical desk job. You’ll spend part of your week meeting clients, assessing trees and preparing thoughtful, accurate quotes, and part of your time in the field supporting the crew with smaller climbing jobs and projects.
We’re looking for the right person first — someone who is knowledgeable, personable, accountable and genuinely enjoys arboriculture and working with a great team.
What the role looks like
You’ll typically quote 2–3 days per week, visiting approximately 2–8 properties per day depending on the schedule and scope of work.
You’ll meet homeowners, assess trees and their needs, explain recommendations clearly, and provide accurate, professional quotes.
When quoting is lighter, you’ll have the opportunity to get back in the trees and work alongside the crew as a secondary climber, particularly on smaller jobs, light removals, pruning projects and work requiring minimal climbing.
It’s the best of both worlds:
Arborist knowledge
Client relationships
Estimating & quoting
Hands-on climbing
Time outside
⚖ A better work-life balance
What we’re looking for
- Strong knowledge of trees, pruning, removals, tree health and common diseases/pests
- Excellent communication and a friendly, approachable personality
- The ability to educate clients and confidently explain arboricultural recommendations
- Good judgment and attention to detail when assessing trees and properties
- Experience preparing quotes/estimates is an asset
- Arboricultural certifications/training such as ISA certification are strongly preferred
- Current first aid/CPR and relevant safety training
- A valid driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle
- Comfortable travelling between properties throughout the day
- Climbing experience is a major asset — ideally you can safely climb and work as a secondary climber when needed
- Strong understanding of arboricultural safety, PPE, equipment and safe work practices
- Physically capable of working outdoors and participating in climbing/ground operations when required
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who…
Is reliable.
Takes accountability for their work.
Communicates well with both clients and coworkers.
Is confident without being arrogant.
Enjoys teaching and sharing knowledge.
Treats people's properties and trees with respect.
Can work independently but also knows how to be part of a crew.
And most importantly, is someone we can trust to represent our company well in the community.
Why join us?
We believe a great arborist company should be about more than just getting jobs done.
Our company is built around accountability, community and work-life balance. We want our people to enjoy the work, have a life outside of work, and feel proud of the team they’re part of.
If you’re someone who enjoys talking to people just as much as you enjoy being in the trees, this could be a fantastic fit.
We’re intentionally keeping this position focused on finding the right person for our crew rather than simply filling a position.
If you’re an experienced arborist who wants a little more variety, independence and balance in your week, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply with your resume and a little bit about yourself, your arboricultural experience, certifications, and what you’re looking for in your next role.
