Full job description

OVERVIEW

The Kitchen Team Member is responsible for preparing, cooking, assembling, and plating menu items in accordance with company recipes, cooking procedures, food safety standards, and operational requirements. This position supports all kitchen stations, including the grill, fryer, gyro rotisserie, salad, and steam table, ensuring product quality, consistency, and efficient service. The Kitchen Team Member maintains clean and organized work areas, operates kitchen equipment safely, and works collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Minimum 6 months restaurant or commercial kitchen experience is required
Food Handler Certification required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
Knowledge of food preparation, grilling, deep frying, gyro preparation, and commercial kitchen equipment
Experience operating commercial grills, charbroilers, fryers, gyro rotisserie equipment, steam tables, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, hygiene, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
Ability to follow standardized recipes, cooking procedures, portion specifications, and presentation standards
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
Attention to detail with a commitment to food quality, consistency, presentation, and speed of service
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members
Ability to work independently while supporting overall kitchen operations
Professional attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES

Prepare, cook, assemble, and plate menu items in accordance with company recipes, cooking procedures, and quality standards
Operate grills, charbroilers, fryers, gyro rotisserie equipment, steam tables, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Prepare grilled items, fried products, gyro meat, salads, vegetables, rice, potatoes, and other hot and cold menu items according to company specifications
Slice gyro meat to company specifications while maintaining product quality and consistency
Monitor cooking times, food quality, holding temperatures, and product presentation throughout each shift
Ensure fryer oil is filtered, maintained, and changed according to company procedures
Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep lists to ensure all kitchen stations remain fully stocked and service-ready
Replenish products throughout service to maintain continuous operations
Accurately portion all food items to maintain consistency, control food costs, and minimize waste
Garnish and present food according to company presentation standards
Maintain proper hot and cold holding temperatures and ensure all products meet company quality standards before serving
Label, date, store, and rotate food products using First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory procedures
Receive, organize, stock, and replenish inventory and deliveries as required
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas at all times
Complete opening, shift, closing, cleaning, and preventative maintenance duties for assigned stations and equipment
Follow all company recipes, operational procedures, food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and brand standards
Report equipment malfunctions, product shortages, food quality concerns, or safety hazards promptly to management
Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure timely and accurate order preparation
Support all kitchen stations and assist fellow team members as required to ensure efficient restaurant operations

GENERAL

Fluent in English and effective communication with guests, team members, and management
Compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and safety procedures is required
Must maintain professional behaviour, confidentiality, and team-oriented conduct
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Perform other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations and brand standards
