About Supreme Containers
Supreme Shipping Containers Ltd. is a locally owned shipping container sales, rental, depot and modification company located in NW Edmonton.
Along with selling and renting containers, we operate our own depot and in-house modification shop. Our team repairs and refurbishes shipping containers and builds custom units for industrial, construction, oil and gas, commercial and municipal customers.
We are growing and looking for another hands-on person to join our shop team.
The Position
We are looking for a Shop Labourer to help with shipping container repairs, refurbishing and custom modification projects.
This is a physical, hands-on job. You will be working with steel, wood, grinders, saws, drills and other shop tools on a daily basis.
The work varies depending on what is coming through the shop. One day you may be replacing damaged container flooring, the next you may be grinding and prepping a container for paint, repairing steel or helping install a man door, window or roll-up door.
You do not need to be a journeyman or experienced container technician. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable with tools, reliable and willing to learn.
Who We're Looking For
We are not looking for someone who needs to already know everything about shipping containers.
We are looking for someone who knows how to work with their hands, can figure things out, shows up reliably and is willing to learn.
We are also looking for someone who wants to stay and grow with the company long term. This is not intended to be a short-term or in-between job, and we are only interested in applicants who are looking for stable, long-term employment.
You should be comfortable picking up a grinder, drill or saw and getting to work after being shown what needs to be done.
There is also plenty of opportunity to learn more about welding, fabrication and container modifications as you gain experience.
