Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative dynamic Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations. who combines a strong operational expertise with a genuine passion for hospitality nutrition and creating exceptional dining experiences for older adults. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of culinary operations including menu development, food quality, kitchen leadership, purchasing, cost control., food safety, and team development. The successful candidate will understand that dining in a retirement community is about more than the meals- it is an important part of the residents quality of life, social connection and overall experience.

Responsibilities

Develop appealing, nutritious, and seasonally inspired menus menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences, incorporating current culinary trends.
Lead and inspire the culinary team while establishing a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork and service excellence
Create restaurant quality dining experiences for a discerning senior living population
Manage food purchasing, inventory, portion control, waste reduction and food costs effectively to optimize profitability while minimizing waste.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation standards.
Recruit train coach schedule and elevate culinary staff
Participate in special events, celebrations, themed meals, and community programs
partner with the leadership teams on budgets, forecasting, capital requirements and long term culinary iniatatives
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment that aligns with sanitation guidelines at all times.

Qualifications

Professional culinary training and or equivalent combination of experience ( Red Seal required)
Extensive food preparation skills with a focus on cooking techniques suitable for large-scale operations.
Proven track record in food service management, including team management and restaurant operations.
Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in the food industry with familiarity in hospitality services such as bartending or serving is advantageous.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Prior experience working within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable.
