Position Summary
The Director, Sales & Business Development is responsible for developing and executing the company's sales and business development strategy while driving sustainable revenue growth. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on business development and requires close collaboration with leadership, engineering, product development, marketing, and external partners.
The successful candidate will build and manage a strong sales pipeline, develop key client relationships, identify new market opportunities, and help shape the company's commercial strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales and business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
- Build, manage, and maintain a strong sales pipeline across targeted market sectors.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and solutions.
- Meet or exceed established revenue and sales targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts and provide regular performance reporting.
Client & Market Development
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, developers, contractors, consultants, and industry partners.
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
- Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, product development, manufacturing, and marketing teams to support commercial objectives.
- Provide customer feedback to assist with product development and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on marketing campaigns, product launches, and business development initiatives.
- Support product positioning, pricing strategies, and solution development.
Leadership
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused sales culture.
- Mentor and support team members involved in sales and business development activities.
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in sales and business development.
- Proven success selling within construction, industrialized construction, manufacturing, building products, real estate development, or related industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience developing new markets and growing strategic client relationships.
Technical & Business Skills
- Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling.
- Experience developing sales strategies, forecasts, and business plans.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and sales performance tools.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and sales planning.
- Strong analytical and market research capabilities.
