Accounting Manager

ZYUS (TSXV: ZYUS) is a clinical-stage life sciences company focused on the development and
commercialization of novel non-opioid pharmaceutical drug candidates for pain management. Currently,
ZYUS is conducting a Phase 2a clinical trial for its lead drug candidate, Trichomylin® softgel capsules.
Through rigorous scientific exploration and clinical research, ZYUS aims to secure intellectual property
protection, safeguarding its innovative therapies and bolstering shareholder value. ZYUS' unwavering
commitment extends to obtaining regulatory approval of non-opioid-based pharmaceutical solutions, in
pursuit of transformational impact on patients' lives.

Role Overview:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing key financial functions, including general ledger
management, financial reporting, inventory control, fixed asset management, internal controls and
external audit support. This role also involves providing financial analysis and collaborating with other
departments to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.

Your Contribution:

1. General Ledger Management:

Directly involved in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
Collect, analyze, and summarize general ledger information to ensure accuracy and compliance.

2. Inventory Management:

Review, analyze, track inventory, and reconcile stock variances.
Ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions and valuation.

3. Fixed Asset Management:

Process and maintain records of fixed assets.
Prepare fixed asset reports for depreciation and asset tracking.

4. Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and other financial activities.
Ensure financial data is up-to-date and accurate.

5. External Audit Support:

Prepare working papers and provide support to external auditors during quarterly reviews and

annual audit processes.

Assist in addressing audit inquiries and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.

6. Financial Analysis:

Generate and interpret financial records and reports to analyze financial data.
Prepare and monitor budget forecasts and variance analysis.

7. Business Process Documentation:

Develop and maintain business process narratives and testing procedures.
Update internal control documentation and observe major processes as necessary.

8. Internal Control Assessment:

Document and assess entity and process-level controls.
Assist business unit managers in updating internal control documentation.
Assist external auditors in performing internal control assessments and testing.

9. Policy and Procedure Development:

Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to financial

management, budgeting, and accounting.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

10. General Ledger Oversight:

Post and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Oversee payroll transactions as required, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

11. Financial Reporting:

Provide monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow

statements, and variance analysis compared to the previous year's budget.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a professional designation (CPA, CA) is required.
5-7 years of relevant work experience.
Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and experience

working in a public company environment highly preferred.

Up-to-date knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
Profound understanding of IFRS.
Quick learner who excels in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in financial and accounting software.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
