Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation, and possess a keen eye for detail and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a vibrant dining environment, delivering authentic sushi experiences to our guests. Candidates with experience in cooking, classroom experience, or early childhood education are encouraged to apply, especially if they have skills in tutoring or teaching others about culinary techniques. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Source fresh ingredients and manage inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
Educate and mentor junior kitchen staff or trainees on sushi preparation techniques and presentation skills.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation throughout all stages of food preparation.
Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including plating, garnishing, and customer service support.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine.
Strong skills in cooking, with particular expertise in sushi preparation and knife techniques.
Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus; ability to tutor or teach culinary skills is desirable.
Familiarity with classroom experience or early childhood education is beneficial for roles involving mentorship or training new staff.
Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and presentation skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. This position offers an engaging opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese cuisine to grow their skills while contributing to an exceptional dining experience.

Pay: $22.00-$29.90 per hour
