NS Modular is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Purchaser, whose primary responsibility is acquiring materials, equipment, parts, and other required products and services to support company operations and fulfill customer work requirements. What You’ll Be Doing
- Procurement & Purchasing
- Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders
- Source qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotations
- Purchase equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services required for operations
- Ensure timely procurement of critical materials to avoid operational delays
- Track and expedite purchase orders to meet delivery schedules
- Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and cost
- Resolve supplier-related issues and discrepancies
- Contract & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions
- Assist with preparing and reviewing procurement contracts
- Support tendering and bid evaluation processes
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Inventory & Materials Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as required
- Help reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts
- Verify material availability and delivery status
- Cost Control
- Seek cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiation
- Analyze market trends and supplier pricing
- Support budget control initiatives and procurement reporting
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement activities comply with NS Modular policies and industry regulations
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure proper approval and authorization processes are followed
What You Bring to the Table
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce or similar field of study
- 2-7 years of purchasing or procurement work experience
- Previous experience in oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines
- Ability to use judgment and apply discretion when making decisions
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
- Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, fall protection, etc.)
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
