The West Parry Sound Health Centre currently has an opening for a Purchasing Supervisor at West Parry Sound Health Centre
Reporting to the Manager of Materiels Management and Environmental & Linen Services, the Purchasing Supervisor supervises and coordinates the Stores and Purchasing department, as well as, under the direction of the Manager of Materiels Management, provides general management of day-to-day activities of the department and counsel to the Health Centre management team regarding purchasing matters.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Work with external agencies, in-house maintenance staff, and outside vendors in order to develop and maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program and database.
- Order parts needed for repairs, and coordinates repairs completed by external vendors as well as minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Complete payroll submission for Central Supply Reprocessing and Materiels Management.
- Supervise and coordinate Stores and Purchasing Departments activities and staff.
- Coordinate and monitors the delivery of supplies and equipment.
- Processes routine purchase orders in order to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Supervises invoice reconciliation in coordination with the Finance department.

To qualify for this position, you will need post-secondary certificate/diploma in Business/Office Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
You will also need to have:
- Post-secondary certificate/diploma in Business/Office Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a health care environment.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with a computerized Materiels Management system.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Demonstrated knowledge of general medical and surgical supplies.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to speak and interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in interactions with others.
- Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct business correspondences and reports.
- Skills in supervising staff including the ability to delegate responsibility, organize objectives, and evaluate subordinate effectiveness.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, team building skills, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, and the ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task while providing consistent high quality work.
- Commitment to continuing education and maintaining professional standards.
- Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
