Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented senior-level Accountant who will also take ownership of the company’s procurement function. This role requires an individual with strong full-cycle accounting expertise combined with strong familiarity with sourcing, supplier management, and strategic negotiation.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day execution of procurement activities, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, cost analysis, purchasing decisions, and vendor relationship management. This is a hands-on role that requires a practical, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable both developing strategy and personally driving results.

Accounting Key Responsibilities:
- Assume primary responsibility for the company’s financial management, including day-to-day financial operations and long-term financial planning, forecast building and working with lending partners on supporting growth strategies
- Tightly manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and communication with suppliers and customers
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
- Prepare and present/discuss monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
- Strong support and ongoing analytical and projection support for growth opportunities and capital expense planning
- Supportive analysis on new customer opportunities, ensuring gross margins are achieved and any necessary CAPEX requirements are sensible
- May involve preparation of quotations
- Prepare payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and tax regulations
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems In accordance with GAAP
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
- Closely collaborate with management to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors and business partners as needed
Procurement and Supply Chain Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all procurement activities across the organization, including raw materials, packaging components, equipment, and operating supplies.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to procurement support personnel.
- Develop and maintain procurement systems, processes, and reporting tools to support accurate quoting, cost analysis, and purchasing decisions.
- Continuously evaluate supply chain performance and identify opportunities to improve cost competitiveness, service levels, and supplier reliability.
- Establish and maintain supplier scorecards, performance metrics, and vendor evaluation programs.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while negotiating favorable commercial terms and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to identify improvement opportunities and address performance gaps.
- Schedule and lead regular supplier review meetings focused on continuous improvement and mutual success.
- Coordinate closely with operations, production, sales, and other internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available to meet customer and production requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food production, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting strategic business planning.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and transition effectively between strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, initiative, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- CPA designation is considered an asset

Pay: $80,170.07-$120,597.18 per year
