Job Summary
The Dishwasher Lead is responsible is responsible for the control of the dishwashing team with less seniority to provide them with the appropriate training required to complete their responsibilities to the best of their ability. This role is responsible for directing and executing proper washing and storage all cooking utensils, china, equipment, flatware, and glassware; as well as maintaining clean and organized all areas of Food and Beverage Service areas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Opens and/or closes stewarding areas in accordance with The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club opening and closing procedures
- Direct supervision, direction, and training of the dishwashing team.
- Washes all dishware in dishwashing machine or by hand according to the highest sanitation standards.
- Washes all pots and pans by hand according to the highest sanitation standards.
- Polishes all silverware, platters and chafing dishes when required.
- Collects trash from kitchen areas; empties garbage bins and washes and re-lines with new bags.
- Breaks down boxes, crates, and removes debris. Disposes of recycling in accordance with current club practices.
- Examines garbage for misplaced silverware, dishes, glassware and other items.
- Washes and polishes all stainless steel in the kitchen including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, coffee area, refrigerators, walk-ins, etc.
- Washes and cleans receiving, trash and other kitchen-related areas.
- Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas.
- Cleans dish machine and dish area after each meal period. De limes when required.
- Checks safe dishwasher temperatures daily and informs supervisors of any discrepancies.
- Performs other tasks such as assisting in food preparation, storing foods after delivery and cleaning coolers, freezers and storerooms.
- Maintains inventories of soap, chemicals and paper towels when required.
- Maintains all kitchen towels and sanitizing stations when required.
- Contacts chemical company in the event of product shortage or equipment mal function.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, continuously inspects floors in kitchen areas to assure they remain clean and clear of debris.
- Handles all china and glassware carefully to minimize breakage.
- Safely disposes of broken glass daily
- Cleans and safely stores all brooms, mops, and other cleaning equipment in their proper places.
- Notifies Executive Chef of excessive breakage and educates staff to minimize waste.
- Assists in completing weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance list.
- Sets up all equipment, china for events in accordance to The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club current set up standards and practices.
- Receives and goods insuring they have been received in good standing and prices are accurate in accordance with The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club current purchasing and receiving practices.
- Rotates and stores all inventory using FIFO practices in accordance with The Credit Valley Golf Club current receiving practices.
- Completes any other task that may be requested by Supervisor
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 4 years previous work experience in a similar work environment such as a private club
- WHMIS Training – On site
- Health and Safety Sanitation Standards
- Food Handler Certification Required – On Site
Work Environment
- Primarily operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and kitchen equipment.
- Requires extended periods of standing and physical activity.
- Must adhere to strict sanitation and safety protocols at all times.
- Collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams is essential.

Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 40h/week.
Salary: $18.50 - 19.50/hour + gratuities
Location: Credit Valley Golf and Country Club – 2500 Old Carriage Rd, Mississauga.
