Summary:
Body Shop Manager is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Body Shop department. You will be responsible for ongoing planning and collaboration with other department leaders; executing on objectives, goals and growth strategies; ensuring compliance with process and procedures; motivating and coaching team members for performance; improving efficiencies; driving sales and championing the customer experience.
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee all body shop operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of repairs.

Assign jobs to technicians and painters, ensuring proper workload distribution.

Monitor production schedules to maintain efficiency and reduce cycle times.

Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer guidelines, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Customer Service and Insurance Relations:

Communicate with customers and insurance adjusters to provide accurate estimates and timelines.

Ensure customer expectations are managed and that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.

Handle disputes and concerns professionally, providing solutions that align with company policies.
Financial & Performance Management:

Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability of the body shop.

Ensure all repairs are properly billed and documented in estimating software.

Negotiate with insurance companies to maximize claim reimbursements.

Manage parts inventory and ordering, ensuring availability while minimizing waste.
Staff Management & Training:

Lead and develop a team of technicians, estimators, and painters.

Provide ongoing training and coaching to maintain high levels of performance.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.

Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss shop goals, challenges, and performance improvements.
Compliance & Quality Control:

Perform final inspections to ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.

Ensure workplace compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and local laws.

Maintain shop cleanliness and organization for an efficient and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Post Secondary Education Preferred
- Previous leadership experience retail automotive dealership experience required
- Excellent organizational, supervisory, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with excellent work ethic.
- Ability to problem solve and high attention to detail.
- Love for a fast-paced, high-energy environment where teamwork drives results.
- Computer skills and understanding of technology.
Working Environment:
- Hours: 40 Hours per week
- Working in Body Shop Department
Compensation:
- Expected compensation range: $80,000- $110,000
- The range may vary based on experience and qualifications.
This compensation encompasses commission, non-discretionary performance bonuses and vacation pay as required under Ontario Regulation 476/24 made under the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
