Blue Wave Therapy is seeking an experienced and highly skilled therapist with a passion for working with adults and couples to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys depth-oriented work, values long-term therapeutic relationships, and has specialized training in couples therapy and trauma treatment.
We are currently hiring for a part-time to full-time caseload, with opportunities for both in-person and virtual work.

About the Role
This role is well suited for an established clinician who enjoys working with adults and couples navigating:
- Relationship conflict and communication difficulties
- Betrayal trauma and infidelity recovery
- Trust rupture and attachment injuries
- Separation, reconciliation, and relationship transitions
- Anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation concerns
- Trauma and PTSD
- Grief and loss
- Caregiving stress and burnout
- Health-related challenges and chronic illness
- Midlife and later-life transitions
- Identity development and meaning-making
A strong interest and demonstrated experience in couples therapy is essential. The successful candidate will be comfortable supporting complex relationship presentations and helping couples navigate some of the most difficult periods in their relationships.
In-Person Therapist Requirements
- Availability to see clients in person in our Markham and/or Stouffville offices
- Access to a private home office suitable for secure virtual therapy
- Willingness to accept a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend clients
- Ability to maintain a consistent and reliable schedule
- Interest in building and maintaining a long-term caseload
- Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centred care
A full-time caseload is dependent on clinical availability, flexibility, and the ability to meet client scheduling needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field
- Registered Social Worker (RSW), Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing with the applicable Ontario regulatory body
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience strongly preferred
- Formal trauma training required (completed certification or equivalent advanced training)
- Completion of EFCT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy) training is required
- Demonstrated experience providing therapy to adults and couples
- Demonstrated experience treating couples affected by betrayal trauma, infidelity, trust rupture, attachment injuries, and relationship distress
- Training in additional couples therapy approaches such as EFT, PACT, Gottman Method, or similar evidence-based models is considered an asset
- Training and experience in trauma-focused modalities such as EMDR, CPT, somatic therapies, parts-based approaches, or equivalent advanced trauma treatment models is considered an asset
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and case conceptualization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prompt, professional communication and strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidential, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
- Experience using Jane App or similar electronic health record software is an asset
- Ability to provide a current Criminal Record Check
- Must maintain professional liability insurance in Ontario

Pay: $100.00-$132.00 per hour
