Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as our Resident District Manager, we’d ask you to lead all aspects of food service operations across York University and its campuses. This highly visible leadership role requires a strong, strategic operator with demonstrated strategic influence, team leadership ability, and advanced financial and business acumen.

This role calls for a confident leader who can influence stakeholders, inspire teams, and elevate the campus dining experience through strong hospitality leadership and modern food retail expertise.
The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Now, if you were to come on board as our resident district manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us
- Be responsible for all aspects of food services and campus dining operations, including budgeting, financial management, forecasting, and weekly analysis to drive strong business outcomes.
- Provide full P&L oversight, leveraging strong financial acumen to optimize revenue, control costs, and deliver sustainable growth.
- Lead a diverse portfolio of food retail brands and concepts, ensuring brand standards, innovation, and customer experience excellence.
- Manage the onsite partnership, building and maintaining strong relationships with university leadership and key stakeholders.
- Act as a strategic partner to the client, influencing decisions and aligning food service operations with institutional priorities.
- Ensure all hospitality standards are consistently executed, delivering exceptional guest and student experiences across all locations.
- Assure quality control procedures are monitored, maintained, and established operating practices are strictly followed.
- Ensure seamless day-to-day operations across multiple sites are consistently delivered at an exemplary level.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large, multi-functional team, demonstrating strong leadership, influence, and talent development capability.
- Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives, including modern dining programs, retail evolution, and environmentally responsible practices

Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing multi unit, preferably in food service operations
Experience in complex environments, ideally within higher education food service
- Strong background in food retail operations and branded concepts management.
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and business strategy execution
- Proven ability in stakeholder management, with experience building and influencing senior-level client relationships
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Hospitality, Food Service Management, or related field
- Strong hospitality mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership capability, with experience driving innovation and change
- Experience managing large teams, ideally in a unionized environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
