About the Opportunity
Our internationally recognized, growing client in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is seeking a forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This opportunity joins a progressive organization that offers professional growth and development while being a key player within the Senior Leadership team. The CFO will lead Finance functions and provide leadership to the Finance & Accounting team, creating a positive, optimal experience as growth continues both locally, nationally, and on the international stage.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Strategic Financial Leadership
Partner with the CEO to develop and execute the company's long-term growth strategy
Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, capital allocation, and performance management
Provide strategic guidance on expansion initiatives, manufacturing investments, capacity planning, and operational efficiency
Support business development, commercial growth, and international expansion opportunities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets aligned with the company's goals and objectives
Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Monitor key financial metrics and provide regular reporting to senior management
Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning efforts
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement to drive profitability
Mergers, Acquisitions & Corporate Development
Develop and execute an acquisition strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives, evaluate strategic partnerships
Drive integration efforts to maximize operational efficiencies and financial returns
Manage capital allocation decisions, including capital expenditures, investments, and financing activities as needed
Lead equity raises, debt financings, and other capital markets transactions
Demonstrate strong understanding of IPO readiness and execution, including financial reporting, governance, internal controls, and investor communications
Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and other external stakeholders- effectively communicate the company's growth story and value proposition
Serve as a key liaison with financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and external auditors
Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to the executive team and external stakeholders
Optimize the company's capital structure and liquidity position to support growth and operational needs
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board on financial matters and strategic decisions
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
Provide financial leadership across manufacturing operations, supply chain management, procurement, inventory management, and distribution
Drive improvements in gross margin, operational efficiency, working capital, and cash flow performance
Establish financial metrics and reporting systems to support manufacturing and operational decision-making
Evaluate capital expenditure investments, facility expansions, automation initiatives, and production optimization programs
Support strategic sourcing and supply chain resilience initiatives
Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable financial, healthcare, and manufacturing regulations, implement effective internal controls and compliance programs to safeguard assets and mitigate risks
Oversee financial infrastructure, including SOX compliance and reporting processes
Maintain strong internal controls, governance practices, and enterprise risk management frameworks
Partner with internal and external auditors to maintain high compliance standards
Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance as well as assess and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks
Financial Operations
Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, and tax compliance
Oversee Finance & Accounting team, providing leadership, direction, and fostering a collaborative culture and continuous improvement
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders
Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting to management, investors, and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
Mentor and develop finance professionals, promoting skill development and career growth within the organization
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
CPA Designation, Active in Good Standing
Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, with 5+ years at an executive level
Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards and practices, IPOs, Mergers & Acquisitions, and regulatory requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving results
Strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively and contribute to overall business strategy and growth initiatives
