Full job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Account Manager to join our Head Office Finance team. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, analytical capability, and the ability to manage multiple financial functions in a fast-paced retail environment. This role is responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring timely reporting, reconciliation, and compliance across accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations within the Head Office Finance department.
Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
Perform monthly and annual bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules.
Support timely month-end and year-end close processes.
Monitor cash audits and assist with financial planning activities.
Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve financial discrepancies and improve processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement accounting best practices.
Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Bank Reconciliations
Financial Reporting
Cash Audits
Sales tax calculations and remittances
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and financial data analysis.
Experience in the U.S. retail industry/environment is considered a strong asset.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

This position reports to the controller and helping them with additional duties as required.
