Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Veterinary Nurse to join our veterinary team. This paid internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. The role involves supporting veterinary professionals with patient care, laboratory tasks, and client communication, all while developing essential skills for future veterinary practice. Candidates with laboratory experience will find this position particularly advantageous, as it enhances their understanding of diagnostic procedures and laboratory protocols.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinary staff with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
Support the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical supplies
Conduct basic laboratory tests and assist with sample collection and analysis
Monitor patient progress and record accurate medical notes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and laboratories
Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and follow-up appointments
Support inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and animals

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a veterinary technology or related program, or pursuing relevant coursework
Laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic procedures
Strong interest in animal health, welfare, and veterinary medicine
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to client service
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment

This position offers valuable practical experience for aspiring veterinary professionals while contributing positively to animal health care.
