RWDI’s Guelph office is seeking prospective candidates to join the Source team as a Civil Engineering Technologist. This posting represents a currently available permanent full-time role.
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Lead field project teams and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC).
- Plan assigned field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and implementation of safety procedures.
- Analyze collected emissions data and ensure strict adherence to QA/QC protocols throughout testing and reporting.
- Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate analytical and sampling equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership.
- Stay current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and detailed field observations.
- Train, mentor, and oversee junior field technicians and new team members on project assignments.
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to enhance performance and professional development.
- Ensure team members complete assigned project-related responsibilities.
- Assess and address health and safety risks to maintain a safe working environment.
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of source testing experience
- Strong computer, analytical and technical “hands-on” skills
- An aptitude for practical problem solving
- Extensive Field/Site experience
- QSTI certification (or Equivalent)
- Knowledge of Ontario and US EPA stack testing methods is an asset
- A valid driver’s licence
Candidates should also possess:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated
- An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination and consultation skills
- Willingness to travel and to work long hours, evenings, weekends (including Sundays)
- The ability to perform manual tasks and be physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Ability to work on several projects at once and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
- Aptitude for attention to detail to ensure a high degree of quality assurance and quality control
