An established and rapidly growing civil construction group is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join its team in Abbotsford, BC.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly diversified contractor with operations spanning heavy civil construction, excavation, retaining wall systems, earth stabilization, municipal infrastructure, emergency response work, and specialty infrastructure projects throughout BC and Western Canada.

The Role
The successful candidate will oversee projects from pre-construction through completion while also supporting estimating and tendering activities across a variety of civil scopes.
Projects range from municipal infrastructure and excavation through to retaining walls, dike restoration, emergency response work, industrial scopes, and specialized geotechnical systems.
This is not a heavily layered corporate environment. The ideal individual will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, solving problems proactively, and working closely with field operations.
ResponsibilitiesProject Management
- Manage civil construction projects from award through closeout
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and suppliers
- Monitor schedules, budgets, forecasting, and project financial performance
- Maintain project documentation, reporting, and client communication
- Support force-account and emergency-response documentation
- Conduct regular site visits and work closely with superintendents and foremen
- Assist with manpower planning and operational coordination across multiple active projects
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and profitability
Estimating
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, pricing, and tender submissions
- Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Participate in value engineering and alternative construction solutions
- Support budgeting and conceptual estimating for negotiated work
- Assist with planning and execution strategies during pre-construction

What We’re Looking ForQualifications
- 5+ years of experience in civil construction project management and/or estimating
- Background in heavy civil, municipal infrastructure, excavation, earthworks, or utilities
- Strong understanding of field operations and construction sequencing
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and project reporting
- Comfortable operating in both office and field environments
- Estimating software experience considered an asset
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary of approximately $130,000–$160,000 depending on experience
