Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic food service team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary excellence, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, restaurant management, and hospitality, with the ability to oversee daily kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure food safety standards are maintained. Previous experience in food industry settings such as hotels, restaurants, or bars is highly valued. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a key role in supporting the restaurant’s success by managing team performance, ensuring quality service, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows.

Responsibilities

Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including interviewing and training new team members
Ensure food preparation and cooking meet quality standards and adhere to food safety regulations
Manage food handling procedures and maintain proper sanitation practices
Oversee POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems for accurate cash handling and order processing
Support food service operations, including serving customers when necessary
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure consistent stock availability
Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
Lead by example in demonstrating hospitality, teamwork, and leadership within the kitchen environment
Assist in restaurant management duties such as scheduling, performance evaluations, and operational improvements

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Supervising experience within a restaurant or food service setting is preferred
Strong knowledge of POS systems like Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling and order processing
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
Background in restaurant management or hospitality industry is highly desirable
Experience with interviewing and onboarding new staff members
Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety standards
Prior experience working in hotel or barista environments is a plus but not required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
