PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of medium to high voltage electrical facilities. We are looking for a Senior Protection & Control Testing Technician to join our Calgary team on a full-time basis. This is a field based position requiring extended out-of-town shifts. What You'll Do:
- Test and commission MV/HV power system protection and control schemes across the utility, power generation, and oil & gas sectors.
- Perform secondary relay injection testing on microprocessor relays/IEDs using advanced test sets such as Omicron CMC356 and CMC500.
- Conduct SCADA points testing and verification.
- Interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot/resolve issues in the field.
- Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports.
- Contribute to the development of commissioning startup procedures and work instructions.
- Uphold all safety practices in accordance with corporate, client, and industry standards.
- Communicate with clients to address inquiries, discuss issues, and confirm resolutions.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in protection and controls relay testing within the electrical utilities industry.
- Hands-on experience with advanced relay test sets (e.g., Omicron CMC356, CMC500).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong general computer skills.
- Proven analytical, risk assessment, and problem solving abilities.
Requirements:
- Ability to work extended periods out of town.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; VISA sponsorship is not available.

Typical shifts will range from 8/6, 10/4, and 14/7.

Working hours are generally from 7am - 5:30pm at 10hrs/day.
