Reporting to the Health and Safety Director, the Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Training Coordinator will support Xpera’s safety strategy. In this newly created role, the HSE and Training Coordinator will support Xpera’s workplace safety programs through supporting compliance with provincial and federal occupational health and safety regulations and legislations in across Canada.

What You Will Do:
- Support the development and implementation of HSE policies, standards, procedures, training, and practices at all sites across Canada
- Assist in the development of written materials for Xpera’s Health & Safety program that is compliant with all regional, provincial, and federal regulations
- Assist in designing and providing ergonomic advice for office, field, and site teams
- Review Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), identify concerns, and collaborate with Operations and Human Resources as needed regarding corrective action and progressive discipline, as appropriate
- Review and assist with incident investigations and associated reports
- Review near miss reports, identify hazards and root cause and recommend corrective actions
- Track incident and injury statistics, and create and edit reports
- Support the administration of all WSIB/WCB claims across Canada including early and safe return to work programs
- Track mandatory training and ensure compliance
- Work with the JHSCs including scheduling safety inspections and ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Maintain detailed records including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and compliance documentation, including confidential records and files
- Provide documentation and statistics to Sales & Marketing for RFX and proposal creation
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, and other functions to align safety initiatives, return to work programs, and assist WSIB/WCB claims administration
- Assist with special projects
- Other duties as assigned to support business needs
What You Will Bring:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, or graduate certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or comparable occupational/industrial health & safety program
- Demonstrated continuing education to support learning and career growth
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.
- Holds, or is actively working toward, a recognized safety designation such as CRST, CRSP, or CHSC.
- Intermediate-level health and safety professional with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple provinces.
- Experience managing WSIB/WCB claims and facilitating early and safe return-to-work programs.
- Experience supporting and maintaining Certificate of Recognition (COR) programs.
- Experience within the security, investigations, or related industry is considered an asset.
- Bilingual in English & French a definite asset
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex situations from multiple perspectives and identify practical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare detailed and comprehensive reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to utilize online research and data resources.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally as required.
