We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Individual Wealth IT team! In this role, the successful candidate will be a highly analytical specialist, responsible for both business and technical analysis, focused on bringing efficiency and business value to various business teams utilizing components of Equitable’s capture, imaging, and business process automation solutions.

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you’ll do:
- Lead business and technical analysis for medium- to large-scale technology solutions, including APIs, system integrations, and technical specifications.
- Partner with business and technology teams to define requirements, assess feasibility, identify risks and dependencies, and support solution design and prioritization.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs, enterprise standards, governance requirements, and audit controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and system effectiveness.
- Support quality assurance activities and contribute to team leadership through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.
What you’ll bring:
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, including work on complex technology initiatives and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Technical aptitude to analyze SQL, C#/.NET code, SOAP/REST APIs, and API specifications such as Swagger or OpenAPI.
- Experience in technical systems analysis and business analysis within structured delivery environments.
- Experience producing high-quality requirements artifacts, including functional requirements, use cases, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Experience working within Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of system development methodologies, enterprise applications, integrations, interfaces, data flows, and supporting system documentation.
- Knowledge of financial systems, web/client-server architecture, database Copyconcepts, Agile practices, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Access and Visio.
- Insurance or financial services experience.
- Experience with requirements artifacts, Agile/Waterfall delivery, and enterprise system documentation.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- CCBA or CBAP certification, or progress toward certification is preferred.
- Experience with process automation, analytical/modeling tools, and test management tools such as Azure Test Plans is preferred.
