Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Optometric Assistant, Medical Office Assistant (MOA), or Receptionist to join our busy eye care practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, patient care, and optical services. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, and eager to support both the clinical and administrative aspects of our practice. Prior experience in medical offices or optical environments is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. This position involves working with electronic medical records and providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in/check-out procedures at the front desk
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
Assist with patient care activities, including preliminary vision testing and basic eye health assessments
Educate patients about products and services, including retail sales of contact lenses
Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and clinical notes
Support the clinical team with tasks related to pediatrics and general eye care procedures
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and clinical areas
Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls appropriately

Experience

Prior experience in a medical office setting or optical practice is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and general healthcare practices
Experience with retail sales or sales techniques is a plus
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly demeanor
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required

**Interested individuals must be available to work 1 weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday)

Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
