We partner with a select group of top-tier carriers to deliver tailored coverage solutions, and we are currently in an exciting phase of building out dedicated, specialized insurance programs to deepen our market presence.
As we scale our operations, we are looking for a proactive Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you won't just be processing files—you will play a pivotal role in managing carrier relationships, refining our underwriting appetite, and directly influencing our growth strategy.
What You Will Accomplish
- End-to-End Underwriting: Manage the full lifecycle of commercial lines submissions, from initial intake through to binding, across a diverse range of commercial classes.
- Strategic Program Management: Oversee our existing carrier programs by monitoring performance, ensuring guideline compliance, and nurturing strong partner relationships.
- Market Expansion: Work directly with our carrier partners to develop, refine, and expand our program appetite and eligibility criteria.
- Decision-Making: Conduct thorough risk reviews and loss history analyses to make sound, profitable underwriting decisions that protect the brokerage.
- Growth Focus: Identify and capture new opportunities to grow the commercial book while maintaining a sharp focus on long-term profitability.
- Collaborative Innovation: Partner with our leadership team to help launch and develop new insurance programs as our brokerage continues to evolve.
Who You Are
- Experienced: You bring 3–5 years of commercial lines underwriting experience, with specific expertise in contractors, liability, or property.
- Relationship-Driven: You have a strong grasp of program business and understand how to manage and leverage carrier relationships for mutual growth.
- Independent & Proactive: You thrive in an environment that requires you to take ownership of your work, manage your own priorities, and solve problems independently.
- Clear Communicator: You possess excellent verbal and written skills, allowing you to build rapport with carriers, internal colleagues, and leadership.
