JOB OVERVIEW
Ina Grafton Gage Home (“IGGH”) is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. The Finance Department plays a critical role in supporting this mission by ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and strategic stewardship of resources.
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in a newly created full-time role. This position will strengthen IGGH’s financial operations, support ongoing modernization, and enhance our capacity for analysis, reporting, and compliance. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with the Director of Finance to lead core financial processes, support organizational planning, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the preparation of journal entries for complex transactions and month-end adjustments.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized, audit-ready working papers.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and performance dashboards.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including development of templates, analysis of trends, and preparation of briefing materials.
- Integrate financial, statistical, and Ministry data to support complex analysis and decision-making.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate and compile supporting documentation for the external audit.
- Prepare Ministry and regulatory submissions in accordance with MIS Standards and MOHLTC requirements.
Core Accounting Support
- Maintain and improve processes across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, and general accounting.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, Ministry guidelines, and audit-ready documentation standards.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Develop and maintain process documentation across all finance functions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, and enhance data quality.
- Support system improvements by refining processes, strengthening data integration, and supporting modernization across finance functions.
Collaboration & Special Projects
- Partner with operational leaders to support financial literacy and provide analysis for decision-making.
- Contribute to special projects, strategic initiatives, and evolving finance needs as assigned by the Director of Finance.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment with sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation is an asset; a business-related degree and demonstrated financial analysis experience are required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Knowledge of PointClickCare an asset
- Working knowledge of MIS Standards and MOHLTC reporting requirements preferred
- Experience integrating multiple data sources (financial, statistical, Ministry data) into complex analysis preferred.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- 3–5 years of financial analysis experience, with a strong track record of accurate reconciliations and insightful budget variance analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize workflow in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
