Maintenance Manager – Multi-Property Operations

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee facilities operations across four well-established properties in Kelowna, British Columbia.
This unique leadership role is responsible for the maintenance operations of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Kelowna and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kelowna, while also providing oversight and support to The Hub Strip Mall and Creekside Plaza.

Core Leadership Responsibilities

Oversee and assist in performing preventive maintenance and repair activities across hotel and commercial facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool systems, and building infrastructure.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs and procedures.

Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Monitor pool chemistry and temperatures to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Oversee winter snow removal operations and ensure the safety of parking lots, walkways, and entrances.

Maintain emergency life safety systems, fire protection systems, and building security systems in accordance with applicable regulations and codes.

Track preventive and reactive maintenance activities, manage inventories, monitor expenditures, and coordinate external contractors and service providers.

Participate in capital planning initiatives and assist with budgeting for repairs, maintenance projects, and equipment replacement.

Respond to facility emergencies and provide leadership and support during after-hours situations when required.
Operational Responsibilities

Maintain all physical facilities through a structured program of preventive maintenance and repair.

Conduct routine inspections to identify deficiencies and proactively address maintenance concerns.

Ensure all building systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Maintain hotel grounds, landscaping, and overall curb appeal.

Inspect electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems to ensure reliability and functionality.

Plan and oversee repair, renovation, and installation projects.

Allocate workloads and coordinate maintenance activities efficiently.

Monitor equipment inventories and order materials and supplies as necessary.

Manage maintenance expenditures and operate within approved budgets.

Build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.

Support hotel operations by minimizing disruptions and responding promptly to operational needs.

Promote and maintain a safe work environment through compliance with company policies and occupational health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in commercial facilities management, hotel maintenance management, or building operations.

Proven experience leading maintenance operations and coordinating multiple priorities across diverse facilities.

Strong understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.

Experience maintaining pools, hot tubs, and related equipment.

Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, life safety systems, and building automation systems.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and implement practical, cost-effective solutions.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification or education in facilities management, building operations, engineering technology, or a related trade would be considered an asset.

Red Seal trade certification would be considered a strong asset.

Valid British Columbia Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
