Full job description

The Northwest London Resource Centre (NWLRC) is a community-based organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where individuals and families thrive. We provide programs and services that promote connections, belonging, and access to resources. We are seeking a motivated and community-oriented Community Service Worker to join our team through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This role focuses on supporting community engagement, promoting awareness of local resources, and helping residents connect with services that enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities:

Complete a comprehensive Community Directory to map and assess resources available in Northwest London.
Create a user-friendly directory to be shared with residents to enhance access to local services and supports.
Develop and execute a social media strategy to raise awareness of programs, services, and events available to families in the community.
Assist in creating engaging digital content to connect with diverse audiences.
Communicate effectively with residents (verbally, written, and digitally) to provide information and make appropriate referrals to services.
Build trusting relationships to better understand community needs.
Produce and distribute essential supplies to residents, ensuring equitable access to resources.
Promote awareness of basic needs support available at the NWLRC and encourage participation in community activities.
Assist with other NWLRC programs and events as needed, contributing to a positive and inclusive community environment.
Abide by the policies and procedures of the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre/ Northwest London Resource Centre.

Qualifications:

Must be between the ages of 15-30 years old
Must have Social Insurance Number and eligible to work in Canada
Vulnerable Sector Police Check must be obtained/provided before commencement of position
Must have valid driver’s license and regular access to vehicle
Interest and experience working with youth
Responsible, trustworthy, approachable and friendly
Good organizational and time management skills
Have the ability to connect with youth and get them involved positively
Patient and understanding towards various cultures/abilities
Motivated, self- starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Capacity to build relationship with community members and professionals
Understanding of boundaries between the role and the participants
First Aid and CPR certified

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $17.60 /hr.

Start Date: June 29th, 2026

End Date: August 21st, 2026

Hours: 30 hours per week
