Psychologist (Contract Position)
Bloom Therapy Co. is currently seeking a Registered Psychologist to join our team in a consultative contractor role supporting neurodiverse children and youth, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental differences.
Position Summary
This role involves providing clinical oversight, psychological consultation, and interdisciplinary collaboration as part of a shared-care model with our ABA and allied health team. The Psychologist will support case conceptualization, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical guidance to ensure interventions are aligned with the client’s cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family needs.
A key component of this role includes providing clinical supervision and oversight to the Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), supporting ethical, evidence-based practice and ensuring behavioural programming is appropriately integrated within the broader psychological and psychosocial context of the client’s care.
This position may also involve supporting documentation required for insurance or funding purposes. The role is designed to ensure continuity of care and enhance access to psychologically informed, integrated services.
The Psychologist will collaborate closely with the RBA and other clinicians to support holistic, client-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological consultation and clinical oversight for individual client cases
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to the Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA)
- Review assessments, behavioural programming, and treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with ABA and multidisciplinary team members to support integrated care
- Contribute to case conceptualization and goal development
- Provide guidance on cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family system needs
- Participate in caregiver/parent consultation sessions where appropriate
- Support documentation and reporting required for clinical and insurance purposes
- Ensure services align with best practices and professional ethical standards
Qualifications
- Doctoral or Master’s degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD preferred where applicable scope allows) Registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) Experience working with autistic children, youth, and their families Strong background in clinical assessment, consultation, and treatment planning Experience providing clinical supervision to regulated professionals (including behaviour analysts) Knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and family-centred approaches Experience working within interdisciplinary teams Professional liability insurance
Position Details
- Independent contractor position Flexible start date (anticipated availability as needed per client demand) Approximately 1–4 hours per month per client (flexible based on clinical needs) Services may be provided virtually or in person in Ottawa (Britannia area) Compensation to be negotiated based on experience and preferred structure (hourly consultation rate or monthly retainer)
