About the Opportunity
Are you a leadership-minded pharmacist looking for a managerial role where you aren't burned out by extreme script volumes or skeleton staffing?
We are seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead our community-focused pharmacy in Northern BC. This is a rare management opportunity where the infrastructure is already built for your success: you will inherit a highly experienced, deeply loyal team of assistants, a manageable daily pace, and a schedule that leaves your evenings and weekends completely free.
Discover Life in Our Community
If you love nature, crystal-clear water, and a tight-knit community feel, you will fall in love with this beautiful area. Situated right on the shores of a massive, picturesque lake, it balances tranquil rural living with absolute paradise for the outdoor enthusiast:
- A Waterfront Paradise: Right on your doorstep, the pristine lake offers legendary fishing (rainbow trout and char), boating, kayaking, and a beautiful sandy beach park perfect for long summer evenings.
- Four-Season Recreation: The area is famous for outdoor adventure. Hike up the local mountain trails for stunning panoramic views of the entire valley, explore extensive cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails in the winter, or hit the local 9-hole golf course.
- A Warm, Welcoming Vibe: This is a friendly, culturally rich, and stress-free place to live where neighbours know each other and the pace of life is wonderfully relaxed. Plus, when you want a "big city" day of shopping or major amenities, Prince George is an easy, scenic drive away down the highway.
Why You’ll Love Managing This Location
- A Self-Sufficient Team: You won't spend your days constantly hiring and training. You have a minimum of 2 to 3 highly trained, experienced assistants on the floor from open to close every single day. They know the community, the patients, and the workflow inside and out.
- True Work-Life Balance: We completely close the store for 30 minutes at lunch every day so you can step away and recharge in peace.
- Built-In Coverage: A semi-retired local pharmacist is available to cover shifts, meaning you can actually take your vacation time and scheduled days off without the stress of scrambling for relief coverage.
- Low-Stress Clinical Scope: Minimal compounding (essentially just Diclofenac cream; everything else is outsourced to Prince George) and a low volume of MACS (primarily UTIs and contraception).
The Work Environment & Practice Structure
- Daily Volume: Average script count is 175–200 per day, providing ample time to focus on quality patient care and operational oversight. Approximately 80% are straightforward refills.
- Compliance Packaging: A core part of our service is managing our 130 blister pack patients (prepared entirely in-house by your stellar support team).
- Demographic & Clinical Care: Serving a predominantly older demographic managing chronic conditions (hypertension, diabetes, COPD/asthma, heart disease, and chronic pain).
- Indigenous Health Care: Serving a large, vibrant local Indigenous population, which includes frequent, familiar billing through BC PharmaCare's Plan W for OTC products.
- OAT Program: Highly manageable workload with currently only 8 Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) patients (2 daily witness, 1 twice-weekly, and the rest weekly/bi-weekly).
