We are a fast-paced, customer-focused quick service restaurant specializing in fresh bagels, sandwiches, coffee, and beverages. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, support our team, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in food service management, employee development, inventory control, and operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and profitability. The successful candidate will lead by example, develop team members, maintain compliance with food safety regulations, and create a positive work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient and profitable performance.
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently maintained.
- Monitor service quality, food presentation, and product consistency.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Open and close the restaurant according to company procedures.
Team Leadership & Employee Development
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new employees.
- Schedule staff to meet business needs while controlling labour costs.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Conduct employee evaluations and support professional development.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with workplace policies and employment standards.
Inventory & Ordering
- Manage inventory levels for food, beverages, packaging, and supplies.
- Monitor product usage and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of products (FIFO practices).
Financial & Cash Management
- Manage daily cash handling procedures and cash reconciliation.
- Oversee POS system operations and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Assist in controlling food costs, labour costs, and operating expenses.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all Ontario health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized restaurant environment.
- Conduct regular cleanliness and safety inspections.
- Ensure all employees follow food safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
Facility & Equipment Management
- Monitor restaurant equipment and arrange repairs or maintenance as required.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain the restaurant's appearance inside and outside the facility.
Business Performance
- Support sales growth through excellent customer experiences and operational execution.
- Analyze operational results and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with local marketing initiatives, promotions, and community engagement activities when required.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3 years of restaurant, food service, café, or quick service management experience.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience with staff scheduling and labour management.
- Knowledge of inventory control and ordering procedures.
- Experience handling cash and operating POS systems. (square is a bonus!)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred
- Food Handler Certification.
- Smart Serve Certification (asset).
- Experience in coffee shop, bakery, café, or quick service restaurant operations.
- Experience using scheduling systems.

Pay: $19.00-$25.50 per hour
