Remote Estimator

The DKI Operations team plays a critical role in supporting our national network of members by delivering value-added services, driving operational excellence, and ensuring consistency across the organization. Every role at DKI contributes to helping others move forward after disruption.
The Role
As a Remote Estimator, you’ll play a key role within DKI’s Remote Estimating Desk (RED), supporting restoration projects across the country through high-quality virtual estimating services. You’ll leverage your restoration expertise and estimating software knowledge to
create accurate, timely, and insurer-aligned property damage estimates while collaborating closely with members throughout the DKI network.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical precision with communication and relationship-building. You’ll bring a strong understanding of restoration operations, attention to detail, and a solutions-focused mindset to help ensure excellent service delivery and operational consistency across the network.
Expected Outcomes
Deliver accurate, insurer-aligned restoration estimates
· Virtually build detailed property damage and restoration estimates electronically.
· Ensure estimates align with insurance carrier partner protocols and expectations.
· Apply effective estimating techniques that support quality, efficiency, and value creation.
· Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across all files.
Ensure timely service delivery and operational responsiveness
· Complete and return estimates within expected turnaround times.
· Prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
· Coordinate and distribute files to other RED estimators across the network as required.
· Support operational efficiency by maintaining organized workflows and communication.
Act as a collaborative partner and technical resource to members
· Communicate directly with members to support estimating accuracy and best practices.
· Provide guidance and training as a value-added feature of the RED program.
· Build strong working relationships across the DKI network through responsiveness and professionalism.
· Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Support a high-performing remote team environment
· Collaborate effectively within a remote team structure.
· Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing operational demands.
· Maintain professionalism, accountability, and strong communication while working independently.

Skills/Experience Required
· Minimum 5 years of direct experience in the property restoration industry
· Strong proficiency in Xactimate, XactAnalysis or other estimating software.
· Excellent computer and technical skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively, both independently and within a remote team environment.
· Flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities.
· Strong knowledge of the Canadian restoration industry and estimating practices.
· High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
