The role of Part-Time Pastry Chef with Peake is an exciting opportunity for the right person. This position supports the operation of the pastry section of the kitchen by assisting with daily production and preparation of high-quality pastry items. The role focuses on executing recipes, maintaining excellent presentation standards, and contributing to the smooth operation of the pastry division.
This position works under the guidance of the Pastry Chef and assists with production needs for service, events, and seasonal menu items as required. The Part-Time Pastry Chef also plays an important role in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and the overall upkeep of the pastry area.
The successful candidate is expected to understand and promote Peake Core Values while contributing as a reliable and collaborative member of the pastry team.
Major Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation and production of pastry items including cakes, breads, pies, cookies, and other baked goods as required

Supports daily production needs to ensure timely completion of orders for service, events, and deliveries

Helps maintain consistency and quality standards across all pastry items

Assists with prep work for the pastry department

Follows recipes and production guidelines established by the Lead Pastry Chef

Supports inventory management by properly storing, rotating, and tracking ingredients

Communicates any low stock or quality concerns to the Pastry Chef
-
Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with food safety standards

Assists with packaging and plating of pastry items for service and functions

Works collaboratively with the pastry team to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

This role requires early morning starts from 4:30AM

3 years pastry experience

Food Safe Certification

Catering experience an asset
