As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our leadership team.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role within our accounting department. This position is responsible for supervising and mentoring the accounting team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day accounting functions of the business.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and rolling up their sleeves to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Property Accountants and Accounts Payable staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, training, and development of team members.
- Establish and monitor departmental goals, deadlines, and workload distribution.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new accounting staff.
Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review financial statements, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of owner financial reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes.
- Support audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
- Review trust account reconciliations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
- Assist with complex accounting transactions and problem-solving as required.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve accounting procedures and controls.
- Work closely with operations teams to improve reporting and financial visibility.
- Assist with Yardi system enhancements, reporting, and process optimization.
- Develop efficiencies through automation and technology solutions.
Qualifications
Required
- CPA designation (or working towards completion) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-family housing accounting is considered a strong asset.
- Experience using Yardi Voyager is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Experience managing multiple entities, owner reporting, and month-end reporting cycles within a property management environment is an asset.

Pay: $95,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
