Colvoy Equipment located in Tillsonburg, Ontario currently has an opportunity for an Equipment Technician to join their team.
General Overview:
This position serves as the primary Repair Technician responsible for servicing the full range of machinery sold and maintained by Colvoy Equipment. The role is primarily a straight day shift; however, occasional flexibility in working hours will be required to meet operational demands. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing new equipment for delivery, including conducting thorough inspections to ensure all units are in safe, fully operational condition. This includes the assembly and installation of attachments or components onto primary power units based on customer specifications.
The role involves both in-shop and occasional field service work, requiring the technician to perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostics and repairs across a variety of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of equipment.
- Perform factory installations on customer units related to vegetation management.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and manufacturer software to identify and resolve equipment faults.
- Repair or replace components, including engines, transmissions, and control systems.
- Conduct post-repair testing to verify proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records and documentation
- Provide on-site service as required
- Adhere to all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and equipment operators regarding repair status and recommendations
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Agricultural Equipment Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in equipment repair or a similar mechanical field.
- Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required with reliable means of transportation to and from work.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email communication.
- Job requires the use of own tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
- Safety conscious and excellent team player with the desire for excellent customer service.
