Reporting to the Regional Warehouse Manager, the Yard Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned yard, ensuring materials, equipment, and inventory are organized, maintained, and distributed efficiently to support operational and project requirements. The Yard Supervisor will provide leadership to yard personnel, coordinate inbound and outbound material movements, maintain accurate documentation and inventory controls, and ensure all yard activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company procedures and operational expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Regional Warehouse Manager and oversee day-to-day yard operations
- Supervise yard staff, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Coordinate receiving, staging, and loading/unloading of materials for yard storage and project delivery
- Ensure all incoming materials are verified against delivery documentation and accurately recorded
- Ensure all material and delivery documentation is complete, signed, and submitted to the administrative team in a timely manner
- Maintain strong organization of yard materials, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and efficient material flow
- Receive, review, and respond to emails in a timely manner, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers as required
- Prepare for scheduled deliveries and pickups by organizing space, staging materials, and ensuring equipment and personnel are ready
- Ensure daily equipment inspections are completed by yard staff and any hazards or damages are reported and addressed
- Oversee and support inventory counts, including cycle counts and year-end inventory activities, ensuring accuracy and completion
- Ensure materials are verified against delivery documentation prior to loading and unloading
- Ensure yard and warehouse are safely secured at the end of each shift
- Responsible to complete daily circle checks of all Loading/Offloading equipment
- Oversee yard traffic and direct delivery vehicles as required to maintain safe and accurate shipping and receiving operations
- Maintain a strong understanding of all yard processes and procedures, ensuring they are consistently followed and upheld by yard staff
- Support inventory processes by coordinating material counts and assisting with inventory accuracy
- Provide hands-on support within yard operations to address gaps due to staff absences, ensuring continuity of daily activities
- Prepare and stage materials for outbound deliveries in coordination with Inventory and Logistics teams
- Monitor yard conditions, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies
- Collaborate closely with Inventory and Logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials to and from yard locations
- Identify and address operational issues, escalating concerns to the Regional Warehouse Manager as required
- Provide regular updates to the Regional Warehouse Manager on yard operations, material flow, and any risks or delays
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment
- Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Suite
- Experience with Jonas is considered an asset
- Previous leadership or supervisor experience considered an asset
- Forklift certification and experience with material handling equipment
- Strong understanding of operations, material handling, and safety practices
- Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
