Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Skim Coat Level 5 technician to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced drywall finishing skills, specializing in smooth, high-quality surface preparation for painting and finishing. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on large-scale projects. The Skim Coat Level 5 technician will be responsible for applying and finishing skim coats to achieve a flawless surface that meets industry standards.

Responsibilities

Apply Level 5 skim coats using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve a smooth, even surface.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary before applying skim coats.
Ensure proper mixing and application of joint compounds or finishing materials according to project specifications.
Inspect finished surfaces for imperfections, making necessary touch-ups to meet quality standards.
Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate work schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials properly.
Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment at all times during application processes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in drywall finishing, specifically at Level 5 skim coating (minimum of 3 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and finishing techniques.
Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on achieving a high-quality finish.
Good physical stamina for prolonged standing, sanding, and working at heights if necessary.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
Reliable transportation and the ability to adhere to project schedules.
Certification or training in drywall finishing is a plus but not required.

Job Types: Seasonal, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
