About the Team
The Operations team reports up to the Operations Manager. This diligent team is responsible for all the production, manufacturing and quality control operations at ECI. The various parts of this team work efficiently together to ensure that the products that we design and manufacture meet the highest quality standards and provide the innovative solutions our customers expect. The technicians, operators and supervisors who are part of this team collaborate daily and have many opportunities to develop their skills and capabilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a proficient and capable Quality Inspector to join the Operations team at ECI. The role is responsible for ensuring that all electronic products and manufactured components meet the established quality standards and customer specifications. The Inspector will perform inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to identify defects, deviations and non-conformances. It is crucial that ECI maintains the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction while adhering to industry regulations and best practices. Previous experience in this role, or a similar role, is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Utilize safety equipment, such as googles, face shields and gloves while conducting thorough inspections of electronic components, subassemblies and finished products
· Leverage computers, scanning equipment, microscopes and other testing equipment to verify compliance with quality standards, engineering drawings and customer requirements
· Identify and document any defects, non-conformances or discrepancies in product quality, ensuring they are accurately recorded and reported to the appropriate departments
· Ensure that all manufacturing processes adhere to the relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC-A-610/IPC-A-620)
· Regularly visually inspect equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements can be taken during inspections
· Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, quality records and other documentation required to track product quality and compliance
· Remove defective work products and collaborate with quality and process teams to identify areas for process improvement and recommend corrective actions to enhance product quality and efficiency
· Participate in root cause analysis investigations to determine the underlying causes of quality issues and work on implementing preventive measures
· Monitor and assess the quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors, communicating any concerns or issues to the relevant stakeholders
· Assist in providing training to production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques and best practices to improve overall quality awareness and competence
· Actively participate in quality meetings and initiatives to drive continuous improvement efforts within the organization
About You
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional technical certifications or associate’s degree in electronics or a related field)
· Ability to proficiently speak, read and write English
· Strong knowledge of electronic components, assembly processes, and quality standards (e.g., IPC-A-610)
· Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry regulations
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
· Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges, microscopes)
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
· Analytical mindset with problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
· Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
· Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and basic computer proficiency
· Experience in quality inspection within electronics manufacturing industry is preferred
Salary Range
The expected wage range for this position is $17.60 – $22 per hour.
