We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to oversee daily field operations, lead crews, support sales growth, and ensure outstanding service delivery across our landscaping, snow removal, and seasonal service divisions.
Position Summary
The Production Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all daily field operations for snow removal, landscaping, gravel services, pruning, and specialty projects. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, operational expertise, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will lead crews, coordinate scheduling and routing, ensure safety compliance, maintain service quality, support sales initiatives, and work closely with office staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Service Delivery
- Oversee all snow removal, landscaping, gravel, pruning, and specialty service operations.
- Plan and manage daily schedules, routing, dispatching, and production workflows.
- Monitor weather events and proactively adjust staffing, equipment, and routes.
- Ensure services meet Yardworx quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain service completion timelines:
- Winter services completed within 24 hours of snowfall ending.
- Summer services completed according to scheduled weekly routes.
- Conduct site inspections, quality control checks, and deficiency follow-ups.
- Review and approve service orders, callbacks, revisit requests, and follow-up work.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and upselling.
- Manage the Production phone line and email inbox, ensuring all communications are addressed daily.
- Maintain accurate notes and documentation within customer and crew accounts.
Crew Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and support field crews.
- Manage employee performance, attendance, disciplinary actions, and terminations when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding employee performance and coaching.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified backup crews and subcontractors.
- Ensure crews follow company procedures, safety standards, vehicle requirements, and uniform policies.
- Train team members on company software, operational procedures, and Yardworx values.
- Verify completion of monthly safety inspections, FLHAs, pre-trip inspections, and equipment checks.
Scheduling & Routing
- Build and optimize service routes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Review and adjust routes daily based on weather, staffing, and operational needs.
- Coordinate snow crews, sidewalk crews, landscaping teams, and specialty service providers.
- Ensure work orders are accurately assigned and completed.
- Support early morning, overnight, weekend, and holiday operations as required.
- Develop contingency plans and backup solutions for unexpected operational challenges.
Reporting & Data Management
- Work closely with the Production Data Coordinator to ensure accurate use of company software systems.
- Maintain accurate records including service orders, customer notes, leads, tasks, and production data.
- Monitor production goals and prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
- Review commission reports and operational data for accuracy.
- Ensure documentation supports customer service standards and liability protection.
Equipment & Logistics
- Oversee operational readiness of trucks, plows, salters, skid steers, blowers, trailers, and landscaping equipment.
- Coordinate equipment staging before major weather events and large projects.
- Communicate with office management and commercial sales teams regarding large-scale sites and equipment requirements.
- Ensure crews complete required equipment inspections and maintenance reporting.
Customer Service & Communication
- Support office staff with customer escalations and service concerns.
- Conduct site visits to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Build positive relationships with customers and internal departments.
- Assist with operational tracking, sign-in/out monitoring, and service reporting.
- Deliver exceptional service that promotes customer retention and referrals.
- Participate in regular planning meetings with office management and sales teams.
Sales Support
- Assist in acquiring new commercial and residential customers.
- Manage service renewals and customer retention initiatives.
- Meet customers onsite to assess needs and recommend solutions.
- Manage incoming leads for landscaping, snow removal, pruning, and specialty services.
- Follow up on previous quotes and inactive customers.
- Prepare estimates and pricing using company guidelines.
- Create site maps and operational plans.
- Prepare contracts and coordinate account setup with administrative staff.
- Support revenue growth through upselling and additional service recommendations.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SECOR, OHS, and company safety standards.
- Verify crews maintain proper PPE and submit required safety documentation.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace accidents.
- Maintain organized safety records and ensure policy acknowledgments are completed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in landscaping, snow removal, construction, field operations, or a related industry.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing field crews.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, CRM systems, routing software, and operational management software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make decisions quickly in changing weather and operational conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.

Working Conditions
- Combination of office work, field inspections, and on-site supervision.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with field operations when necessary.
- Overtime may be required during peak landscaping and snow seasons.
- Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required during month-end processing, seasonal transitions, snow events, and special projects.
