Health and Safety Coordinator (Full-Time, Permanent)
Location: Winnipeg, MB
We are seeking an on-site Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, permanent role in the automotive industry.

Reporting to Human Resources Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator will work collaboratively to support workplace safety initiatives internally and with external stakeholders, coordinate training, conduct inspections, and help ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities

Support Joint Health and Safety Committees at each location, including coordinating meetings, recording minutes, coordinating training, and following up on recommendations
- Coordinate and deliver safety orientations and training for new and existing employees
- Assist with internal audits, hazard assessments, and workplace inspections
- Prepare incident reports, conduct investigations, and maintain related documentation
- Maintain knowledge of Workers Compensation Board (WCB) requirements and support reporting of workplace incidents and near misses
- Manage PPE inventory, distribution, and safe disposal of damaged equipment
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to identify training needs and support return-to-work and accommodation processes
- Coordinate company safety events and initiatives (e.g., Environmental Health and Safety Week)
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and support corrective actions
- Promote safe work practices by monitoring workplace processes and activities
Qualifications & Skills

Experience in health and safety within retail, manufacturing, or industrial environments is considered an asset
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication, presentation, and training skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to complete additional safety training (e.g., First Aid, Safety Manitoba training, Train-the-Trainer programs)
Additional Requirements

Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, which may include working in various environments and occasional lifting (up to approximately 25 kg)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation is considered an asset, depending on role requirements
