Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Server/Cashier to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately handling transactions, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests. This role requires a motivated individual with a passion for the food industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Duties

Take customer orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS and process payments with cash handling expertise.
Prepare and serve food items according to safety and sanitation standards, ensuring proper food handling and food safety protocols are followed.
Provide attentive customer service by answering questions about menu items, upselling specials, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, workstations, and kitchen equipment in compliance with sanitation standards.
Manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management and organization skills.
Assist in food preparation as needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
Handle cash register operations, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts with basic math skills.
Promote a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with guests professionally and courteously.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS is advantageous.
Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and communication.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
Basic math skills for processing payments and giving correct change.
Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
Excellent time management skills to balance serving multiple tables or customers simultaneously.
Kitchen experience or restaurant background is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for working in the food industry is essential.
