The Opportunity
Demir Engineering is seeking a hands-on Senior Quality Technician to support quality control, inspection, and metrology activities within a structured engineering and manufacturing environment.
This is an execution-focused role requiring a high level of accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established procedures. The successful candidate will carry out inspections, laboratory testing, metrology activities, and quality documentation while working closely with quality assurance, engineering, and production teams.
This role is focused on execution and technical ownership, with close collaboration across quality, engineering, and production teams.
This role reports to the Quality Manager and is part of a core quality function that plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Metrology and Inspection
- Execute metrology projects using advanced 3D scanning systems and precision instruments
- Conduct inspections of in-house manufactured and vendor-supplied components
- Perform dimensional inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T
- Work with 3D CAD models and perform basic dimensional analysis
Quality Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare Material Test Reports (MTRs), Quality Control Reports, and Certificates of Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate release of inspection reports and certifications
Inspection Coordination and Compliance
- Coordinate and support Non-Destructive Examinations (NDEs)
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection, NDE, and calibration records
Laboratory and Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain laboratory and measurement equipment
- Manage calibration requirements in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment
Quality Assurance Support
- Monitor product quality in collaboration with production and engineering teams
- Support continuous improvement of quality procedures with management and engineering
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with QA, engineering, and production teams
- Participate in audits, technical reviews, and problem-solving initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or advanced diploma in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Quality Engineering Technology (technician or technologist backgrounds considered)
- 5+ years of experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing environments
- Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measuring equipment
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems is preferred
- Experience in metallurgy, foundry operations, welding, machining, or heavy manufacturing is an asset
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality documentation
Skills and Competencies
- High level of attention to detail and consistency, particularly in repetitive tasks
- Strong ability to follow procedures, standards, and documentation requirements
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Mechanical aptitude and structured problem-solving ability
