Northern Industrial Services Inc. (NIS) is a rapidly growing industrial inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) company serving clients in the mining, refinery, pulp and paper, oil and gas, industrial, and manufacturing sectors across Canada. As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and motivated Operations Coordinator/ Scheduler to join our team in Val Caron, Ontario and play a key role in supporting our field operations.
This is a key role within our operations team, responsible for coordinating technicians, managing client schedules, maintaining training records, and ensuring jobs move efficiently from booking to invoicing.
Compensation & Benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Schedule NDT technicians and inspectors for client work across multiple sites
- Coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term technician schedules
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure manpower is allocated efficiently
- Verify technician certifications, qualifications, and site requirements align with each job scope
- Maintain employee training, certification, and mine-site induction records
- Ensure technicians have valid site access and required documentation prior to mobilization
- Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, site requirements, and job updates
- Follow up with technicians to ensure inspection reports are submitted promptly
- Coordinate with administration to ensure invoices are issued in a timely manner
- Track work orders and assist with job completion documentation
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to employee qualifications and client requirements
- Assist with general office administration duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in scheduling, dispatching, operations coordination, or office administration
- Experience scheduling field personnel in a service-based industry such as non-destructive testing (NDT), industrial services, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, or similar trades is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience maintaining employee certifications, safety training records, and compliance documentation is considered an asset
- Familiarity with mining, industrial, or manufacturing environments is considered an asset
