Position Summary:
The Bartender assists in daily restaurant operations and supports the General Managers and Director of Hospitality in their pursuit and delivery of excellent guest experience. The Bartenders are an integral contributor to the overall success of the restaurant and must champion our philosophy, and mission.
The ideal candidate will have an immense understanding of attention to detail. They will always be willing to go above and beyond in order to create the perfect experience for their guests. They will embody a sense of pride, heartfelt hospitality and grace while in the dining room.

Service Operations
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of food and beverage on offer to ensure a high standard of service for guests
- Ability to deal with high pressure environments while maintaining a standard set by management and yourself
- Maintain athletic composure throughout service by organizing yourself and your station for success each service
- Set goals to achieve success short term and long term
- Check identification of guests to ensure legal drinking age laws (AGCO) are being complied with
- Serve guests one-on-one or in groups in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner
- Maintain daily cleanliness and sanitation of your service areas, equipment and your appearance
- Uphold health and safety protocols in accordance with internal policies, as well as recommended personal hygiene practices outlined by the Ontario health ministry, Health Canada and WHO
- Strong and effective communication with fellow members of The Iron Cow team, Head Chef and General Managers
- Have a deep understanding of beverage and cocktail curation, and take pride in the processes and results of producing high quality cocktails, within the expectations of The Iron Cow team
- Work with organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in front of mind
Required Experience
- Professional and personable; exceptional guest relations skills
- 2+ years of experience as bartender in high-volume restaurant or retail roles
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills
- Smart Serve certificate is required

Work Environment

- There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces, liquids, sharp knives and slippery floors
- This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work Physical Demands
- The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time (12 hours) as well as walk, bend, stoop, climb, balance, kneel and crawl
- The position requires working feel with fingers and visually inspect, including close and distance vision
- This position requires the ability to use your arms, hands and manipulate fingers to reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, decorate, etc.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs. regularly; occasionally lifting and/or moving
up to 50 lbs.
