Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a permanent opportunity with a growing organization. This in-office Calgary role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with strong experience managing the month-end close, financial reporting, and supporting a high-performing accounting team within a publicly traded company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.
Manage the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the accounting team while supporting day-to-day operations.
Coordinate audit requests and assist with external audits, financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and support finance initiatives.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and other ad hoc financial analysis as required.

Compensation & Details

$120,000 - $130,000 + RRSP + Bonus
Location: Calgary, hybrid work model

Required Qualifications & Skills

CPA designation preferred.
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
