Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Part-time Line Cook/Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic food service team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to gain experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. This position offers flexible hours suitable for students or those seeking part-time work, with opportunities to develop culinary skills and grow within the food industry.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant standards
Support food service operations by ensuring timely delivery of orders
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
Assist with meal assembly and plating as needed
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized
Support team members during busy service hours to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Experience

Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Familiarity with serving, food preparation, and cooking techniques is a plus
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is desirable
Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrates ability to multitask effectively
Kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant experience will be considered an asset
